Map Quest is one of the most accurate driving directions providers on the web, I have visited over one thousand internet mapping websites to get driving directions, but the popular MQ site and Google Maps are the ones that I've liked the most, because they have provided me with the most accurate directions. Even though G Maps and MapQuest.com are my favorite, there are other web mapping sites that are very cool and useful, those sites are Bing Maps, Yahoo Maps, and Rand McNally, Yahoo Maps has an excellent free live traffic report, and Bing Maps provides 3d images online.

Map Quest is one of the best internet mapping softwares, it is also one of the most veteran online mapping sites, it was launched in 1996, that means that MQ has been helping drivers everywhere get to their destination in an easier manner for more than 15 years! To get driving directions all you have to do is visit the official MQ website, look for the blue get directions link, click on it, enter your locations, starting address in "A", ending address in "B", click on get directions, and you are done, the route planning software will automatically create a very efficient route to help you get to where you need to go.

I've already said like a million times that there are thousands of websites where you can get free turn by turn driving directions, but Google Maps and Map Quest are the ones that I like to use the most, their directions are a bit more accurate and probably easier to follow too. Since I started using this service it has been helping me find the appropriate routes to go from one address to another, MQ provides very easy driving directions that any person will love, but most importantly that any person can follow. As a user of this service, you will be able to save a lot of time, and also a lot of money.

You can get Mapquest driving directions through any mobile device that has access to the web. To get driving directions through your phone, simply open up your phone's web browser in order to visit their mobile site, enter your locations, and then tap on "get directions", exactly the same way you would normally do it on a desktop computer, as soon as you click on get directions the route builder will automatically plot the most efficient route on a very high quality map.

Not everything is perfect, sometimes even the most advanced software will not work as it's supposed to, however, I've never had any problems when using Mapquest, I have utilized hundreds of web mapping softwares for directions, but the only website that always gets it right is MQ. I really hate wasting time, that's the reason why I do not like things like traffic, closed roads, and roads under construction, thanks to AOL's online mapping service I never have to deal with those things, because the advanced route planning software that this website provides automatically re-routes me around traffic and all the other things that I don't like.

Reasons To Choose Satellite Radio Technology

| Tuesday, December 27, 2011
By Anthony Jones

For many years, satellite television had been available to the viewer, allowing you to watch your favorite shows in high definition quality. It is now even possible to surf the Internet by these means and you get to enjoy super fast speed. So, it is logical that you should be able to listen to satellite radio with this technology. Swapping over from your regular radio to this new technology means that you no longer have to become frustrated over poor signal strength or quality. The broadcast quality is excellent and you never have to worry about constantly fine tuning your favorite station due an enlarged sized footprint.

In order to reach this quality, the recording and playback speed needs to be around the 384 kbps level. The music tracks are catalogued in a comparable way to the MP3 system, which uses names called ID3 tags. Each station on satellite radio attempts to create its own identity. A music station may try this by playing music only of one type or from only one era or decade. This means that you may get a satellite radio station called 1970's Punk music or Twentieth Century Classical Music.

Satellite radio doesn't have this issue. The signals are transmitted by a satellite and can span across thousands of miles. This means you can listen to the same station from the beginning of your travel all the way through to your destination. You may experience slight fading of the channels if you are in an area that has heavy tree cover, but as soon as you have a clear shot of the sky the station comes back in clearly again.

Station Availability Another benefit to satellite radio is the sheer number of stations available. With terrestrial radio you are usually limited to a handful of stations that you can pick up in your area. If you enjoy listening to more alternative music you may be stuck with having to listen to CD's or an mp3 player.

This isn't a bad thing, it just can get irritating listening to the same music over and over again. Satellite radio reaches millions of subscribers, and they can offer hundreds of stations. Some of the stations may require an upgraded subscription, but you will still have hundreds of stations available. This means you can listen to any type of music you can imagine, or talk radio programs that your local stations may not run.

The footprints that are used in order for these digital broadcasts are huge, and the advantage of this is that you will never have to retune your set on a long journey again. A country the size of Britain needs only footprint to cover even the furthest of points, America starting with two, one for the west coast, and the other for the east.

These new antennas are a huge improvement on the parabolic dishes (similar to those used for satellite television) that one used to have to have in order to take advantage of satellite radio technology.

Mapquest.com is perhaps one of the best web mapping sites, it is without any doubt one of the most popular online mapping websites. I know that there are hundreds of free internet mapping sites out there, but I think that the best are G-Maps, Y! Maps, and Bing Maps, there are other good sites that are worth checking out, but I prefer saving time by simply going straight to the best.

Mapquest.com provides easy directions from and to any place, the site also provides high quality interactive maps, navigation is made simple thanks to the quality of the maps that they offer. If you start using this online mapping service, you will be able to save a lot of time, and probably a lot of money as well. MQ provides free mobile solutions that any person can use, you can access their mobile site through your phone's web browser, another way to access this service through a mobile device is by downloading their free app, the app is known as M4M, and it s the only app that provides Skyhook technology for free.

My sister is a lot younger than me, recently she started driving, a few days ago she told me that she has been hearing a lot of good things about an online mapping service called mapquest, she asked me, why is this service so famous? I told her that this website is one of the oldest online mapping services in the world, it has been online since 1996, I also told her that the service has been helping people find the most accurate routes between two or more places for over fifteen years, then I mentioned a couple of cool features, like the gas price finder, which is a feature that allows you to find the lowest gas prices near your location.

Now you can also use mQvibe when you visit mapquest.com, you can use this new service to find local information, and most importantly, local rankings in every city of North America, you can find out useful information like weather, sports, news, and much more. I also told her that she could access this service at any time through her mobile phone, all she has to do is open up her phone's browser to visit their mobile website.

I'm a real Mapquest driving directions fan, I have been using this service since 2002, thanks to this service I have been able to live a better life as a driver. The other day I was thinking about taxi drivers, about how difficult and complicated their job is, they have to deal with a lot of traffic, closed roads, roads under construction, pedestrians, bikers, angry drivers, etc.

I don't know if taxi drivers use this service, but they should, because it will allow them to perform better on their job, they will be able to relax, and maybe even have fun while they are driving. If you are a taxi driver, and you are not using this excellent online mapping software, then let me tell you that you are missing out on a very powerful tool that will make your life a whole lot better.

By John Ohiggins

Mapquest is a recognized provider of free driving directions and maps online, I've been using map quest directions for over 12 years, this excellent internet mapping service has money saving tools that have helped me save hundreds of miles, and also hundreds of dollars.

Map Quest is probably one of the oldest online mapping websites, I think that MQ was launched in 1996, but I think that Rand McNally is the only online mapping website that's older than mapquest.com. It's really amazing that after more than 15 years this service is still considered one of the best. Google Maps is also a great online mapping website, I probably use it as much as Map Quest, and I think that their driving directions service is just as accurate.

Map Quest can be accessd through any mobile phone, or any other mobile device that allows you to browse the web, you can access this service through your phone's web browser, another option is to download the official Mapquest app for mobile, the app is free, but you can only download it if you have an Android or iPhone phone.

The vast majority of drivers that use the internet know that the driving directions mapquest offers are very accurate, they are also very quick and easy to follow. I've been a loyal user of this service for many years, it has never disappointed me, in fact, the service is so good that I even convinced my dad of using it, and my dad doesn't even know how to use computers!

Mapquest.com was probably one of the first online mapping websites that I used, after using this service for a while I became really addicted to internet mapping programs, since then I have been trying and testing most of the free online mapping websites, by now I have been able to use services such as Via Michelin, Bing Maps, Yahoo Maps, and Expedia. After doing a lot of testing, I still believe that Map Quest and Google Maps are the best.

If you are in Europe, don't forget to use ViaMichelin, I think that Michelin is the most popular online mapping site in Europe, they offer free driving directions and interactive maps with high resolution. Another European online mapping software that's very popular is Mappy, however, mappy only works on french speaking countries, while Via Michelin is available in most countries around the world. I live in the United States, so I use Map Quest and Google Maps a lot, but when I go to Europe, I like to use ViaMichelin.

Satellite Radio Technology

| Tuesday, December 13, 2011
By Tom Soyer

Satellite radio uses different technology than terrestrial radio. Instead of relying on the analog signals transmitted through a ground based antenna, satellite radio uses a network of satellites to transmit data to your stereo. It has advantages, and can be a great solution for some drivers. Here's a quick look at the difference between satellite and terrestrial radio.

Signal Interruption If you've ever been on a road trip that takes you several hundred miles from home, then you know how frustrating it can be to lose one station and try to pick up another. Some areas just don't have powerful enough antennas to transmit the nearby stations, leaving you with static ridden music, if you can hear the music at all. Terrestrial radio can only work when the signals are strong, so in more rural areas you may not be able to pick up many stations.

Also if you are looking for a hand held satellite radio and price around $390, take a look at the Sirius Stiletto 2. This good looking, robust and extremely versatile handset benefits from the superior Sirius satellite reception for crystal clear clarity of sound. And allows you to schedule recordings and capture up to 100 hours of Sirius programs. With expandable memory through a microSD card, the possibilities are endless with this little beauty.

The Sirius satellite radio delivers over 130 channels of music and other channel, and the 60+music channels are completely commercial free. There are also sports channels, chat shows, special interest shows, and many more. For sports fans there is live coverage of all the NBA and NFL games, as well as the NASCAR races. This is an excellent piece of equipment that embraces the adage "you get what you pay for".

For $80 less than the stiletto you can get yourself the Pioneer GEX-INNO2BK. Small, stylish and powerful, and carrying the renowned Pioneer brand name, this model is becoming increasingly popular. It has a 1 GB storage capacity, large enough to hold 5O hours of music and a single charge will give you five hours of live XM radio or 15 hours of playback. One touch recordings of your favorite programs are played back through MP3 or WMA files. The 1.7 LCD display is full color with a pixel resolution of 180 x 180.

In America, for instance, the two areas concentrated on at first were the densely populated east and west coasts in order to maximize possible income. One satellite would be incapable of covering the entirety of the United States in that orbit.

In order to receive satellite transmissions, you will have to use a special antenna on your decoder. This antenna must be capable of receiving L-band broadcasts for it to be of use. These new antennas are a huge improvement on the parabolic dishes (similar to those used for satellite television) that one used to have to have in order to take advantage of satellite radio technology.

Mapquest for driving directions is the best, I do not know if you have used this internet mapping software before, and to be honest I really don't care, that's why I'm going to tell you straight away what you'll find at the official MQ website when you go there. As mentioned earlier Map Quest provides free accurate directions, and high quality interactive maps, this service has one of the best route planners on the web, you can even use it to add lots of stops to each route that you create, the MQ route planner allows users to add up to 26 routes!
